1. Intensive French

This course offers in addition to the standard course, 10 weekly lessons mainly orientated on oral expression and cultural knowledge.

2. Standard French

The class will be built around the acquisition of the 4 competencies (Oral comprehension, Oral expression, Written comprehension, and writing skills).

The training allows you to gain the competencies explained on the CEFR’s global scale.

The Standard Course is the ideal option for those who want to improve their French but still have plenty of time to discover the beautiful city of Montpellier and its fantastic surroundings, or who need more time alongside the course for work or if traveling with family.

3. Standard Course

Combine pleasure and results thanks to accredited courses, workshops, and a true group dynamic. We offer a week-long package of 15 lessons, standard classes can be supplemented by specialty workshops (cooking, conversation, site visits, etc …) over 5 days.

Throughout your training, you will be supported and monitored by a qualified teacher. Our courses are designed to address all levels of need, whether amateur or professional.

A placement test will be conducted upon arrival and on completion of the course you will receive a certificate attesting to your level of achievement in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Whether a beginner or proficient (A1-C2), an appropriate course will be proposed. Full immersion programs take place on a schedule determined by request to in-house designed groups (6 to 10 participants).

All levels will enjoy the natural and cultural heritage of the Languedoc Roussillon through the selection of one of our theme programs: Vineyards & Countryside, Cuisine & Heritage, Discover the Camargue.

5. Afternoon 10

There are a range of options to suit students who prefer to take classes during the afternoons. All LSI schools offer fluency practice.

These classes consolidate what you learn in the morning, improving your fluency and pronunciation through discussion on a wide range of topics.

There is an emphasis on language for everyday situations. Topics may include film and theatre, media studies, current events, politics, local culture, and research using the Internet. Other options vary, depending on the student’s level, the language, and the LSI language center location.

6. One-to-One (20 lessons per week)

Individual tuition is the fastest way to learn a language. Whether you need general or specialized language, each course is designed for your needs and adapted to your rate of progress.

is the perfect option if you have specific targets or limited time. It is particularly convenient for professionals and executives preparing for a trip abroad, or negotiations and presentations in a foreign language.

Topics include Finance, Management, Marketing and Sales, Social Sciences, Law, Medicine, Technology, Correspondence, and Report Writing.

A typical day in one-to-one executive courses consists of a grammar lesson, a skills lesson (writing, reading, or listening), a lesson focusing on the student’s language needs, and a session on informal speaking.

7. Super Intensive courses

The super-intensive course is for students who want to maximize their language learning practice skills during their stay at Institut Lyonnais. The course focuses equally on communication and comprehension skills, and there are more focused lessons on Wednesdays.

The groups are composed of several students in super-intensive courses or other courses but with the same French level.

The students have class in the morning or in the afternoon, except on Wednesdays when they have a lesson in the morning and one in the afternoon. This course provides an exam in the last month of class if the student books for more than 3 months.

8. Semi-intensive courses

The semi-intensive course is for students who want to improve their language skills. The course focuses equally on communication and comprehension skills.

The groups are composed of several students in semi-intensive courses or other courses but with the same French level.

The students have class in the morning or in the afternoon.

9. Standard French

The Standard French course consists of 20 lessons per week of group instruction. Teachers focus on an interactive teaching method with the goal of expanding the students’ vocabulary and knowledge of French culture and civilization.

Note that during the summer high season, some Intensive and Standard courses are only available in the afternoon.

10. Intensive French

The Intensive French course consists of 20 lessons per week of group instruction and 10 lessons of oral instruction.

Teachers focus on an interactive teaching method with the goals of expanding the students’ vocabulary and knowledge of French culture and civilization; broadening his or her familiarity with grammar and its structures, as well as a written expression of the French language.

Improving oral expression through group discussions, reading comprehension through the analysis and discussion of authentic documents, and listening comprehension.

The 10 lessons of oral instruction occur on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after Standard classes. Note that during the summer high season, some Intensive and Standard courses are only available in the afternoon.
