Your success or failure in anything is determined by your programming – what you accept from others and what you say to yourself.

Positive Affirmations for Teens

Being positive can be difficult, especially in the world we live in today. Whether we notice it or not, teenagers and young adults bear the brunt of the situation.

On the outside, a teen or young adult may appear to be fine, but on the inside, they may be dealing with some very serious and life-changing issues.

Having said that, many teenagers simply do not want to or do not feel comfortable talking to their parents. However, encouraging your teen to use positive affirmations can be beneficial.

What are Affirmations?

Let me explain what an affirmation is if you don’t know what it is. There’s nothing fancy or fussy about it; just positive statements that inspire change in your life. As you can see, these statements can range from simple truths to statements of empowerment.

How to Use Affirmations for Teens

I’ll show you how to use these affirmations (as well as some of my favorite affirmations for teens), but it’s important to understand that it’s okay if you or your teen doesn’t believe positive affirmations at first.

To get the most out of them, repeat the affirmation 3-5 times per day, at least twice per day. It’s normal for your teen to be reluctant to participate at first. As a mother, you can speak these life-giving positive thoughts over your children until they develop the habit on their own.

How to Use these Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations can be used in a variety of ways to help you change your life for the better. First and foremost, positive affirmations are an excellent way to begin the day.

Repeat these affirmations when you wake up, before you go to bed, or whenever you are feeling unsure.

Affirmations are most effective when repeated three to five times while paying close attention to the meaning of the words and what they are saying.

Focusing is an excellent way to ensure that you get the most out of the affirmations. Affirmations can help you focus and get in the right frame of mind for your day and what you will face.

Another great time to use affirmations is when you are feeling uncertain or under a lot of stress.

These can be used to help you relax, diffuse high-stress situations, and refocus if you’re feeling off. Affirmations can also be used to prepare.

A good set of positive affirmations can help to assuage fears and calm nerves so that your teen can focus on passing that test, they can tackle that social situation, and they can truly focus on themselves and their own well-being.

Words have far more power than you might imagine and finding the right affirmation that works for your teen can help to truly make a huge range of issues easier to deal with and can help make their teenage years more enjoyable overall.
