The Integrated Water Centre Scholarship is a scholarship from the International Water Centre (IWC). This scholarship is for high-caliber international candidates excluding Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens, and here is how to get it.

IWC provides a variety of scholarships, which change every year based on the sponsorship organizations’ preferences for funding the advancement of leadership in the water industry.

Though there have been no reports of what the scholarship will look like this year, we can, however, get an idea from the 2023/24 round of scholarships.

They include:

Let’s take a look at each of these scholarships:

1. Four IWC Water Leader Scholarships Valued at $4750 Each

IWC will pay for $4750, or half, of the recipient’s course costs, which comes to $9500 (not including GST) for the program.

The remaining $4750 (excl. GST) must be paid by the recipient or arranged for by them. The program’s intensive participants will incur costs (such as travel and lodging) that must be paid for by the recipient or arranged on their behalf.

2. One Clearwater Local Government Water Leader Scholarship valued at $9500

IWC will pay for $8500 (excl. GST) of the program’s $9500 (excl. GST) costs. The remaining $1000 (excl. GST) in fees must be paid by the beneficiary or made arrangements for by them.

Additionally, a $1000 grant is given by the scholarship to help with program-related expenditures such as travel and lodging for the intensives. The recipient’s employer or themselves is responsible for paying any additional costs.

3. One Clearwater Melbourne Water Leader Partial Scholarship valued at $5750

IWC will pay $4750 of the $9500 program fees (excluding GST). The remaining $4750 (excl. GST) in fees must be paid by the beneficiary or made arrangements for by them.

Additionally, a $1000 grant is given by the scholarship to help with program-related expenditures such as travel and lodging for the intensives. The recipient’s employer or themselves is responsible for paying any additional costs.

Scholarships will be given to deserving applicants who meet the requirements for admission and distinctly show promise as future water leaders.

Scholarship Eligibility

The IWC Water Leadership Program Scholarships are all subject to the general eligibility requirements listed below:

1. Candidates must have worked in the water industry or sector for at least three years.

2. The candidate must possess the ability to speak effectively in English.

3. The applicant’s work supervisors must be aware of the program’s requirements and endorse their application.

How to Apply

1. To apply for the scholarship, applicants must first apply for admission to Griffith University and fulfill the admission requirements.

2. Access the online Griffith University admission application form by clicking here.

3. If you wish to save your application and return to it later, click on ‘Save Answers and Resume Later’ at the bottom of the page.

4. Copy the provided URL link and save it in a secure place.

The URL link is valid for a maximum of 30 days for resuming the application. After 30 days, the link will expire, and you will need to start a new application form.

Scholarship Terms and Conditions

The IWC Water Leadership Program scholarships are all subject to the general terms and conditions listed below:

1. It is expected that participants would engage fully in all program components. This includes having the option to go to Brisbane to physically attend the two in-person training sessions that will take place in August 2024 and February/March 2024.

2. Scholarships will be offered to other applicants if a candidate receives one and doesn’t formally accept it (i.e., by email or in writing) within five calendar days.

3. It is assumed that beneficiaries of scholarships will be enrolled in the program in 2023–2024.

4. Scholarships cannot be transferred to other individuals or used in subsequent years.
