Bill H James Foundation Scholarship 2023 Application Update
Bill H James Foundation is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their Bill H James Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship is fully funded for all prospective students.
The awards aim at impacting the lives of deserving students throughout the state of California.
Our undergraduate and graduate scholarships are one of a kind and have continuously changed the lives of those who have benefited from our support.
Benefits of Bill H James Foundation Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded annually and award amounts may vary annually.
Requirements
1. Must be a U.S. citizen
2. Must be African American/Black (non-Hispanic)
3. A minimum of 12 units must be taken each semester or quarter by undergraduate students who are beginning their junior or senior year of study during the 2022–2023 academic year.
4. Graduate students must have a minimum of two academic semesters or one year left complete his/her Master’s degree during the 2022-2023 academic year and must carry a minimum of 8 units per semester/quarter
5. Must have a minimum of 3.2 GPA
6. Must be enrolled in an engineering program at a four-year institution in the state of California that has received accreditation.

How to Apply
1. Fill in and submit the Scholarship Application form
2. All supporting documentation must be typed and submitted into a single PDF document
- A duplicate of one formal letterhead-based, signed reference letter from a professor or employer from college
- A copy of your college or university’s unofficial transcripts. Upload an acceptance letter if you aren’t already enrolled.
- A headshot photo
- A current resume
- An essay of one to two pages (double spaced) in length explaining an engineering project you’d like to work on in the future.
- Describe the ways in which improving engineering diversity would benefit your project. Show how your academic aptitude and leadership skills will aid in the completion of this assignment.
3. Your application will not be taken into consideration if you submit only the application form.
4. Ensure that all application materials, including the optional reference letter, unofficial transcripts, acceptance letter, headshot photo, résumé, and essay, are integrated into ONE PDF before submitting.
