Playford Trust/AusIMM Minerals Scholarship, which is fully funded by Flinders University, is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

Flinders University, located in Adelaide, South Australia, is a publicly funded institution.

Founded in 1966, Flinders University derived its name from Matthew Flinders, a renowned navigator who conducted thorough surveys of the South Australian coastline in the 19th century.

The AusIMM (The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) was established in 1893 and operates under a Royal Charter.

The scholarships have a total value of $9,000.00.

Requirements for Playford Trust/AusIMM Minerals Scholarship

1. Eligible students are individuals who hold Australian citizenship or possess a permanent resident visa.

They must also be residents of South Australia and demonstrate a likelihood of contributing to the South Australian minerals industry or benefiting the state.

2. Students must have a strong academic background, characterized by outstanding achievements during their undergraduate studies.

3. Students should exhibit good character, with a preference given to those who show potential for leadership.

4. Students who are considering pursuing further studies or research after completing their Honours degree are encouraged to apply.

5. It is expected that students do not concurrently hold any other significant scholarships, although this does not prevent them from submitting an application.

6. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time in either the Bachelor of Science Honours degree, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering (Mineral Processing);

Also, Environmental Engineering program, with a focus on studies or a research project directly relevant to the minerals industry. They are also required to apply for Student Membership of the AusIMM.
