The Western Chances Scholarships 2023 Application Update
Western Chances Scholarships is currently open for applications from suitably qualified students. The scholarship is fully funded for all students and is sponsored by the Deakin University.
The Western Chances Scholarships
Established in 1974, Deakin University is a government-funded institution located in Victoria, Australia.
The objective of Western Chances is to recognize the importance of education in transforming lives and to provide aid to promising and driven youth from the western suburbs of Melbourne in achieving their full potential.
The scholarship program aims to assist these students in gaining entry into tertiary education.
Benefits of Western Chances Scholarships
An amount of up to $3500 will be awarded as a cash payment for a period of one year.
Payment will be made after the census date, with $2000 for Trimester 1 and $1500 for Trimester.

Requirements for Western Chances Scholarships
Every scholarship offered by Deakin University has certain qualifications that must be met. It is crucial to ensure that all prerequisites are fulfilled before presenting an Expression of Interest.
To qualify, you must:
1. Should possess a Western Chances Scholarship and must have recently completed VCE (with the possibility of taking up to two gap years).
2. Must be a student from Australia.
3. Must be starting an undergraduate degree in a Commonwealth supported position at Deakin University in Trimester/Semester 1 of 2023.
4. Should not have previously earned a bachelor’s degree.
